THERE was great success for five young boys from the Jujitsu Tavistock Club who went all out in front of a grading panel headed by sensei Umberto Bergonzini.

The standard proved to be exceptionally high and the grading panel was pleased by the performance and character demonstrated by everyone.

Connor Baker, Eric Moore, Jack Kerswill, Joseph Mulroy and Luca Bergonzini were promoted to fourth kyu, which is represented by the blue belt.

Umberto, a fourth degree black belt, said: 'The five youngsters, aged 10 and 11, started jujitsu when Jujitsu Tavistock first launched the junior classes back in 2006. Since then they have trained really hard, they have shown dedication and humility and because of all that they have always passed their grading examinations with flying colours.'
