FIVE members of the Spooners Pony Club travelled to Totnes on March 11 to participate in the South Devon West Triathlon.

In warm temperatures all team members did extremely well in the running phase on a difficult course set around the grounds of King Edward VIth College.

Edward Coombs won this phase in a fast time, shot and swam well and was placed second in the individual junior boys' event. Ben Sleep and Joe Raeburn again performed consistently well in all three phases, resulting in Ben being placed fifth and Joe sixth.

The three boys were placed second in the junior boys' team event.

Rachel Short was delighted with her performance in the running phase and with a good swim and shoot she finished seventh in the senior girls' individual.

Alice Raeburn continues to improve in all three phases of the competition and had an excellent shoot, narrowly missing winning this phase of the competition. With an improvement in her swim and another good run she finished seventh in the junior girls' individual competition.

All competitors enjoyed their day and are training hard for the next event in Truro this Saturday.
