FIVE students from the Ju Jitsu Tavistock Club entered this year?s first round of grading examinations.

For Gordon Murray, Noel Kelleher and Ross Groves it was their first time and although nervous they performed well, passing and achieving the next level, 9th kyu which is represented by a red belt.

Tracey Mitton and Paul Brennan, from the China Fleet Club in Saltash, entered the exam for 8th kyu and 4th kyu respectively. They both passed with Tracey achieving her yellow belt and Paul his purple belt.

Umberto Bergonzini, sensei, was again pleased by the performance and character demonstrated by the students during the grading examination.

The club meets on Tuesdays between 7.30pm and 9pm and Thursdays between 8pm and 9pm.
