EAGER young volunteers from the Tavistock area are needed to take part in next year's gruelling Ten Tors event.
Tavistock and District Youth Forum are looking for energetic young people aged 14-20 to join their three teams which will attempt the annual challenge in May.
Ten Tors, which is organised by the army, involves teams of six navigating their way across Dartmoor with an overnight camp.
The distances involved are 35 miles for 14-16 year olds, 45 miles for 16-18 year olds and 55 miles for 18-20 year olds.
The Youth Forum has entered teams in the event for the last six years.
Training walks get under way in February, and will take place every fortnight until the event on May 14 and 15.
Anybody interested in representing Tavistock Youth Forum in Ten Tors can contact Peter Challiss, team manager, on 01822 852157.
