IN their penultimate games of the season, the Kelly College netball 1st VII and 2nd VII teams played against Liskeard School.
The 1st VII got off to a great start with some superb team play. At half-time, after 20 minutes play, the score was 28-0 to Kelly.
To ensure the team remained focussed, a target of more than 50 goals at full time was set.
The final quarter was the team?s best of the match, leading to a final score of 56-4.
This result was down to superb teamwork combined with accurate shooting from from Katie Renouf and Jo Hollick.
For the 2nd VII match, a reserve player had to be loaned to Liskeard to give them a full team. The match proved to be one-sided, with the teamleading 9-2 at the end of the first quarter. With good scoring by Emily Wilson and Hayley Wedlake, the second quarter ended 13-4.
In the third quarter the defence played well and the score moved on to 20-4.
The final result was Kelly 26, Liskeard 6.
l Kelly College 1st VII last Wednesday played the last match of their season against Shebbear ? a win by 36 goals to 17 completed an unbeaten season.
The team made a slow start and were trailing 7-8 at the end of the first quarter; they picked up the pace in the second quarter and once in the lead did not relinquish their grip on the match.
