Tavistock Ladies 2nds 3

Liskeard 4

TAVISTOCK Ladies suffered their first hockey defeat of the season by a strong visiting Liskeard team. Liskeard took first push back and followed with intense early pressure to score.

After the goal Liskeard continued to pressurise the Tavistock defence of Amy Petts and Gem and Frankie Murphy.

But a timely interception by Petts allowed a quick break with the ball, being passed rapidly up the field between Louisa Frost, Anna Balm and Chloe Bassett finishing with Robynne Honey burying the ball in the back of the goal.

Liskeard responded strongly scoring a further 2 goals. Tavistock ladies came out stronger in the second half although allowing Liskeard to score a 4th goal receiving a short corner.

Tavistock then began to dominate the game. Two quick goals, one from Fiona Dunn and an unstoppable shot from Kate Eadie brought Tavistock right back into the game. Despite continued pressure from Tavistock, Liskeard held to win.

Player of the Match: Gem Murphy. Thanks to Tom Honey who umpired.
