WHEN a volunteer eager to help improve the school environment at Tavistock primary had time but no equipment, he decided to approach local traders, asking them to donate various items.
In these difficult times the school was touched by their generosity — it resulted in a shovel, garden spade and fork, bow saw, small brush, big brush, various items of gardening equipment and a wheelbarrow to put it all in.
The school expressed thanks to the managers of Travis Perkins, Focus, Cornwall Farmers and Jewson for donating the equipment.
Headteacher Lynette Selbie said: 'It will make a huge difference to the school environment for our pupils.
'Our thanks go to Mr John Mulley for his efforts and the local firms for their support.'
