THE ANNUAL fireworks display held at Callington Community College and funded by Ginsters was a huge success, raising a record-breaking total of over £2,000.
Reporting to members of Callington Town Council last week, Cllr Jeremy Gist said around 9,000 people watched the event at the college and hundreds, if not thousands, of others gathered at other spots in the town to see the event. The display is held in collaboration with the town council who will be donating the funds raised to local charities soon.
He said the only issue was the sheer volume of pedestrian traffic and car parking: 'There will be some changes next year including opening some extra entrances and we will be encouraging people not to park in the immediate area.'
Visitors will be encouraged to park in the town's car parks.
