AN enchanted evening of music and dancing in West Devon helped raise around £30,000 in total to be shared between three charities.
Some Enchanted Evening was held at Puggiestone in Chagford, and Chagford Recreational Youth Development Trust were one of the charities to benefit from the fundraisers. The other two charities which received a share of the proceeds were Children?s Hospice South West and the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Exeter.
The event last month was a great success with more than 500 people in the audience to witness a production of highlights from the West End shows.
After three encores, the finale was a stunning firework display to the rousing music of Carmina Burana. The audience heard songs from Chicago, South Pacific, Kiss Me Kate, Jesus Christ Superstar, Phantom of the Opera, Funny Girl, Evita and My Fair Lady, closing with Mama Mia which had young and old on their feet dancing.
Organiser Sonia Meaden said: ?We achieved both objectives tonight, firstly to raise money for our chosen charities and secondly, for everyone to have a good time.?
The concert was performed in Sonia and Brian Meaden?s garden in Chagford, and was put on by Music Associates run by old friends Andrew Wyke and Gillian Lancaster.
