STICKLEPATH fireshow has announced the full details for its popular annual summer holiday craft activity workshops. The workshops will be held on Finch Foundry Field and will be open to all ages ? though under tens, say organisers, should be accompanied by an adult. Two sessions will run each day from Monday August 27 until Friday August 31 ? an early session from 10am until 12.30 pm and an afternoon session from 1.30 pm until 4pm. Sessions cost £2 each. Throughout the workshops there will be materials and ideas galore on offer, as well as the usual cast of helpers who will be on hand to help and give advice. The week?s events will culminate in the now infamous but newly-named Crafty Capers show and exhibition at 2.30pm on Saturday September 1, when costumes, puppets and wacky creations will be exhibited to the public and entered into competitions. This year?s competition classes will include a garment from waste; a creation inspired by a wedding; and a catwalk outfit designed by the next Vivienne Westwood. There will also be categories for outfits inspired by a book title, a pub name, the name of an island, or by kids? television. Fireshow organisers Hilary Gillespie and Dave Goodwin had this advice for would-be designers: ?Remember, the audience love to participate so the more cryptic the entry the better and you don?t have to attend the workshops to enter the show.? They added: ?During the week there will be all sorts of other interesting crafty stuff going on, so please wear old clothes as we intend to get messy!? All are welcome to attend the Crafty Capers show, which organisers say always provides an afternoon of fun, crafty inspiration and laughter - admission is £2 each. For any further information about the workshops, please call Hilary or Dave on 01837 840334. It is also not too late to help the Fireshow Committee to raise the funding needed for the workshops by buying a quiz sheet priced at just £1 and give you the chance of winning a £20 first prize. Quiz sheets are available from Donald?s in Okehampton and Lynfords in North Tawton, as well as in the shops and pubs in Sticklepath, Belstone and South Zeal. The Sticklepath Fireshow Committee has also recently made new additions to its website. From now on, committee meeting minutes and annual accounts will be published on the site which can be found at: http://www.sticklepathfireshow.org.uk">www.sticklepathfireshow.org.uk.
