FIREFIGHTERS from five different stations in West Devon attended a barn fire between Princetown and Two Bridges on Monday just after 8pm. One appliance from Princetown, one from Yelverton, two from Tavistock, a crew from Camels Head, and a water carrier from Plympton all attended the scene to tackle the blaze. The barn building, which is 25 metres square and contained 150 tonnes of hay and various garden machinery, was severely damaged by the fire. Crews from Princetown and Yelverton were still on scene damping down on Tuesday morning. l Princetown firefighters were called to a car fire on a public road last Thursday (August 3). The fire crew attended the scene on a road to Yelverton from Princetown just after 11pm. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and two hose reels to tackle the blaze which severely damaged the car.
