CHAGFORD firefighters were called to assist with a chimney fire at Hook Farm in Cheriton Bishop on Sunday. One crew from Crediton first attended at 5.50am and requested a further appliance from Chagford. The fire involved the chimney breast and beam. Firefighters used one hose reel, cutting gear and a thermal image camera to tackle the fire. A chimney fire also took place on Monday at a farm in Cheriton Bishop. Firefighters from Crediton attended at 12.30am and found a wooden beam was involved in the fire. The beam was removed by firefighters to open space and the fire was extinguished using one hose reel. And the firefighters were called to Gidleigh Park Hotel in Chagford last Saturday after a fire started in an open fireplace. One crew from Chagford and one from Moretonhampstead attended just after 4.40pm and dealt with the fire using chimney rods, one hose reel and a thermal image camera.
