FIREFIGHTERS were called to an accident on Plymouth Road, Tavistock in the early hours of New Year's day.

Only one car was involved in the accident but the cause of the crash is unknown. It is thought the road may have been icy, as the car slipped into a hedge on Plymouth Road, by the turning to Whitchurch.

Two fire appliances from Tavistock attended.

There were three people in the car, none of whom were injured.
