FIRE crews from Tavistock were called out to Lydford Gorge after a young woman slipped and injured her ankle.
The woman, who was from outside the area, was taken by ambulance to Derrifird Hospital with a suspected broken ankle.
Both Tavistock appliances attended the incident, which occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
Tony Clarke, station commander, said: ?The terrain is such that the ambulance people needed our assistance.?
