A FORMER Kelly College student is hoping for success in the world of singing after winning through to the regional final of one competition — and gaining an audition for The X Factor. Sarah-Elizabeth Williams from Gulworthy said singing was her passion. She has sung since an early age locally, including at garden fetes and at Gulworthy parish events, and sang in the college choir, but is only now looking for entry into the commercial world. Her repertoire covers a vast range, from songs performed by Katherine Jenkins to Christine Aguilera and Alicia Keys. Sarah-Elizabeth performed in front of judges from Plymouth Sound recently to beat off strong competition and win a place in the regional final of the SX Factor talent competition run by Start Promotions. This will be held at the Riviera International Centre in Torquay on May 31. The prize is a Sky TV interview and the recording of a CD. At around the same time she was notified that she had been accepted for an audition at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff for the well-known TV show The X Factor, which will take place on May 11. Her mother Jo said they were looking for local companies to sponsor her in respect of items such as clothes and hair and anyone who is interested should call 07857 286106.
