THIRTY children from Kelly Prep played in the Delancey UK Schools Chess Challenge 2012.

All played superbly well over seven rounds. At the final match the room was full to capacity with pupil and teacher spectators.

With excellent attacking play from both competitors, the final champion was Lois Thornton with the two runners-up of James Lloyd and Oliver Allsop.  Seven other Kelly Prep pupils also qualified to go through to the Devon finals on June 16.
