Brixham seconds v Yelverton seconds

YELVERTON seconds finished their Devon Cricket League season on a high and consolidated their mid table position with a maximum 20 point haul away at Brixham on Saturday.

Asked to bat first Yelverton put on 219-9 from their 46 overs thanks to a fine 70 from Ashleigh Phillips, 52 from Chris Cottrell and 22 from Chris Pearson.  Phillips and Cottrell put on 100 for the fourth wicket.

In reply, Brixham could only muster 120 to leave the Bohemians victorious by 99 runs.  Veteran Tony Carter capped a fine season with a 4-26 haul and there were also wickets for Iain Cunningham, Jason Degg, Kevin Treweeks, Matt Tamsett and Andy Taylor.
