YOUNGSTERS from across the region were jumping for joy at a recent festival to celebrate fun, fitness and being active. More than 170 children from ten West Devon primary schools took part in the year 3 Gym Festival held at Okehampton College. The day saw a fun format involve the children in different types of gymnastics and multiskills activities to help facilitate the importance of being active and having fun. OCRA organised the event in conjunction with the South and West Devon School Sport Partnership who aim to create more activity opportunities for young people and, through the Okehampton area school sports co- ordinator, organise and support a range of festivals and activities throughout the year. OCRA reported the day to be a great success with many youngsters discovering new skills and new interests. The children had a fantastic day and OCRA would like to extend their thanks to everyone who helped make this possible, especially Sharon Kee, Ali Sparke, Paul Drew and Lil Rowe. l Children from Hatherleigh, South Tawton, Exbourne, Northlew and Boasley Cross enjoy the year three gym festival at Okehampton College.
