OKEHAMPTON U3A is urging anyone who is retired or no longer in full-time employment to come along to its social afternoon this month.

The afternoon will offer the opportunity to see displays and demonstrations of all the group activities run by the branch and also give people the chance to have chat, a game of scrabble or whist and find out what the U3A is all about.

With groups ranging from photography to science and technology, contract bridge to horse racing, the group aims to keep older people mentally and physically active and provide fun along the way.

The social afternoon will be held on Thursday, January 28 at 2.30pm at the Ockment Centre.
