UP to 120 exhibitors and demonstrators have so far reserved space at the South West Forest Woodfair on Saturday, July 12.

The event, at Roadford Lake, will feature a variety of craftsmen, woodland machinery specialists and organisations engaged in training, forestry, environmental issues and wildlife.

There will be a full demonstration programme including charcoal, thatching, a mobile blacksmith?s forge, green wood musical instruments and traditional timber working.

Visitors to Roadford are encouraged to bring their bike along to try out the Roadford Lake cycleway where they can take part in a treasure hunt.

This year there is additional children?s entertainment in the form of a clown, face painting, storytelling, mask making and a Punch and Judy show on a woodland theme.

Exhibitors will range from traditional local craftsmen to larger sawmills with a representation from a wide diversity of land management, wildlife conservation and training organisations.

The organisers hope the message people take away will be the sustainability of woodlands, their environmental importance and the essentially wholesome nature of the activities.
