THE fifth race of Weir Quay Sailing Club's Frostbite series was held on the River Tamar in bright conditions with a freshening southerly wind.
Five boats took part over a triangular course with a long beat, short reach and long broad reach with four rounds for the fast boats and three for the slow.
Two Wayfarers competed and three Mirrors. John Tomlinson won the fast handicap by two and a half minutes in his Wayfarer 'Final Chance' in a time of 59 minutes, followed home by Tim Houghton in 'Woppit', another Wayfarer.
His brother, Ben Houghton, won the slow handicap in the Mirror Dinghy 'Whose Blue' in a time at 55 minutes, beating second place Daniel Newcombe in the Mirror dinghy 'Flip Flop' by eight minutes.
