WORK is underway to stage another free music festival in Callington this year, following the success of last year's Kelliwik Music Festival.
Organisers have been busy putting plans in place for the second Kelliwik Festival and have already come up with some ideas and the budget has been set.
All the committee needs now is some money, good will, performers, vendors and marquees in case the sun is covered by big Cornish clouds.
Held towards the end of Callington's Carnival week, with 27 hours of live bands, drama and dance, the Kelliwik Festival will again offer local people the chance to shine on stage as well as a long weekend of entertainment for the town and surrounding villages.
Last year's organisers said the good will from local people was 'amazing' and the bands, who all performed for free, said they would be happy to perform again at another event. Music, dance and drama of all genres, jazz, rock, acoustic, gospel, brass band and choirs are all welcome.
Funding, as last year, is being raised by events such as a 'dance-athon' and a 'race night' as well as being sought from local businesses, the Bog Lottery Fund and others.
This year the festival will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 10,11 and 12 at Callington Recreation Ground.
