THE Children?s Hospice South West will be given an even bigger boost during this summer?s Food and Drinks Festival in Tavistock. The festival committee, which has already pledged a percentage of the event?s profits to help the North Devon-based hospice, has arranged for the Buckland Monachorum Friends of the Hospice group to hold a book exhibition during the two-day event on July 30 and 31. Linda Downing, chairman of the group, said: ?We are absolutely delighted to be given a stand at the festival and are most grateful to the organisers for their generosity. ?Exhibiting at the festival will allow us to generate valuable funds for the hospice by selling good quality, nearly new cookery books ? as well as Peter Gorton?s latest cookbook. ?The festival will give us the opportunity to promote the Children?s Hospice South West to visitors and to tell them of the tremendous work and care the hospice offers to terminally ill children and their families.? Linda said anyone wishing to donate cookery books can drop them off at the stand during the festival. Alternatively they can phone her direct on 01822 853792. Tavistock Food and Drinks Festival is due to take place in a huge marquee in Bedford Car Park. It will include a wide variety of food and drink producers from the area, a packed programme of top chef demonstrations and a jazz café, where visitors can enjoy drinks and snacks while listening to a live jazz band.
