ORGANISERS of this summer?s Food and Drink Festival in Tavistock this week announced that exhibitor reservations have so far exceeded all expectations. The festival is due to take place in the town?s Bedford Car Park on July 29 and 30 and is being staged by Tavistock Business Association. Jeffrey Stackhouse, festival chairman, said: ?We are delighted that within weeks of sending out exhibitor applications, we have already received firm reservations for 35 stands. ?Our 2006 festival will be bigger and better than last year. Our all-weather marquee complex will cover 22,000 square feet, allowing us to house a projected 110 exhibitors.? Mr Stackhouse said a new feature for this year?s event will be a regional sausage competition ? and the jazz café, featuring refreshments and live soft jazz, was also due to be upgraded. ?Chef Peter Gorton is already planning his popular celebrity chef demonstration programme ? we are also pleased to announce that we shall again be supporting the Children?s Hospice South West.?
