THAT is the season completely over now; I'm back home having happily left Russia behind me. At least I did manage to finish on a better note after a respectable performance in the mixed relay competition. This was the first time I've competed in the new format relay when one girl and one boy make up a team; it turned out to be great fun. It's quite refreshing to do a team event when pentathlon is predominantly such an individual sport.

I maybe on my training break but my life seems to have sped up a little more. After landing at Heathrow I headed straight to a party on my way home — no time to waste! It was then down to Plymouth to watch the Americas Cup series in The Sound. I was so grateful to Lloyds who invited me out on a yacht to watch all the action from the water, there may not have been any capsizes on Thursday but it was still exciting racing.

Friday it was back up the M5 for a completely different event.

I was incredibly honoured to be asked to attend the opening of London Fashion week, I just couldn't turn down the chance to wear a designer dress even if only for a few hours —oh, and have my photo with Boris Johnson! Next stop was the royal box at Newbury races for an action-packed day out which fitted in well with my journey back towards the southwest.

I was back home in time to grab another opportunity to further my potential radio presenting career, this time an outside broadcast for the Agatha Christie sea swim at Torquay. My co-presenter may have kept me on a tighter rein than my debut performance on the early show, but it was yet another invaluable and thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Think I might need a break after my break!
