A ‘FANTASTIC’ day saw hundreds of people descend on a brand new music festival for Tavistock at the weekend.
The first TaviFest, which took place on Tavistock College’s field, saw a variety of bands, musicians and tribute acts take to the stage to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer Action.
Jean Keast, on behalf of the organising committee, said: ‘It was an absolutely fantastic day, a great success. It has built the foundation for an annual music festival. Lots of the acts and businesses want to come back next year. We will have a debrief and a bit of a breather, then we will start thinking about plans for next year! We’ve had lots of messages to say how brilliant it was.’
Jean said Pancreatic Cancer Action was thrilled with the event and is keen to be even more involved next year.
The total amount raised is yet to be counted but at least £2,000 was taken on the gate alone. Santander have also offered match funding. Jean expressed thanks to the event sponsors, all the acts and businesses that were involved and everyone who attended and supported the event.
