I WAS pleased to read in the Times a few weeks ago that the supermarkets in Okehampton are doing well, despite the recession.
I know a lot of people are struggling but may I ask readers to also support the smaller shops in town? If these shops do not get more support soon, we will lose them, and then how will the town look?
I would particularly like to mention 'Serious About Sport'. I have had fantastic service from this shop. The owner will take great care to get goods in which are not in stock. What a contrast to the appalling lack of service in the bigger sports shops in Exeter which I now boycott!
Come on, Okehampton. Please support our local shops. They need our help!
