CALLING jazz enthusiasts in the Okehampton area! A Bude resident has contacted the Times in an attempt to start a new, informal jazz group in the area. Ken Hodges said: 'Are there any enthusiasts out there who would welcome the opportunity of a regular get-together, say in a private room in a pub, to discuss jazz and perhaps give talks and record recitals? 'If a circle could be formed, perhaps we could progress to putting on live gigs.' Anybody who likes the idea of a regular jazz night should call Ken on 01288 354596. Ken added: 'With the advent of the new 24-hour radio station 'the Jazz' there is a wider audience — those new to the fold would be welcome.'
