THE first weekend of the New Year sees great family entertainment at The Wharf in Tavistock, with a traditional pantomime, staged by M&M Productions. A young lad named Dick Whittington has heard that the streets of London are paved with gold so he sets off with his cat Tommy to make his fortune. When they arrive in London they get a job helping out in Fitzwarren's stores where Dick falls in love with the lovely Alice Fitzwarren. However after being wrongly accused of theft by Alice's father, Dick and Tommy find themselves penniless once again and decide to leave London to find work. They get jobs as crew members aboard the evil Captain Hawkeye's ship bound for America, however, the ship sinks during a storm and they find themselves washed up on the shores of Island of Rocco. The island is inhabited by savages and ruled by the evil King Rat. This is a fabulous, fast moving pantomime packed full of wonderful characters, up to date chart hits to get you singing along and lots of laughs to have you grinning all the way home! A fabulous day out for the whole family - oh yes it is ! M & M Productions will be on stage at The Wharf at 3pm and 7pm on Saturday January 5.
