THE Theatre Royal Plymouth has announced its new season which boasts the broadest possible range of performances.
A revival of John Wilson's harrowing First World War drama, For King and Country, will be staged in February.
As an army lawyer steps forward to defend a young private charged with desertion, the play explores his sense of duty to the boy which becomes a sense of passionate compulsion to save him from the firing squad.
King Pelican is a new Drum Theatre Production by Chris Goode. Described as a great maverick talent, Goode has produced a brilliant array of work, from the hilarious Hippo World Guest Book to the beautiful and sombre Speed Death of the Radiant Child.
This highly anticipated new play is a haunting yet tender offbeat fantasy about one of Victorian literature's best-loved but least known figures, Edward Lear.
Directly following this on the Theatre Royal stage is Measure for Measure, the fifth production of an Arts Council initiative between Theatre Royal Plymouth and Thelma Holt.
Previous productions have included The Tempest and Twelfth Night. Although perhaps one of the least performed of Shakespeare's plays, Measure for Measure is one of his most rich and complex.
It explores issues of morality, justice and the abuse of power that have a relevance to life in Britain today that is extraordinary.
Celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Nikolai Gogol, Gecko and Lyric Hammersmith have created The Overcoat, in association with Theatre Royal Plymouth.
Capturing the unruly spirit of Gogol's irreverent masterpiece with a riotous blend of physical comedy, movement, cinematic images and evocative music, this award winning company has created an intoxicating world from Gogol's imagination.
Quadrophenia is an explosive new stage adaptation of the legendary double album.
Set in London and Brighton at the height of the 1960s Mod scene and told through the eyes of Jimmy, a hedonistic style conscious teenager who hates his job, is misunderstood by his parents and lives for music and to be with his scooter riding Mod clique.
This play is a glorious tribute to an era of youthful change and musical brilliance.
