THE 'Secret Gardens of Skaigh' event on Sunday, May 18 for Children's Hospice South West was extremely well attended and the weather was very kind to us. We made a stunning £1,011. It was such an exciting day, enjoyed by everyone who took part, and was great fun with a real community atmosphere. All 15 gardens are quite different so were well worth seeing and many people managed to visit each one. The refreshments, at the home of Sandra and John Moppet, were very welcome as people made their trek up and down Skaigh Lane — with ploughman's lunches and a huge range of yummy cakes being enjoyed by all! Belstone Group of Friends — Angela Hammond, Edwina Hill, Sandra Moppet, Susan Norrish — and their invaluably helpful husbands are overwhelmed and delighted by the response to the event and would like to thank everyone who helped, visited, donated or supported in any way to help. A truly wonderful day! Edwina and Robin Hill Andrews Corner Belstone
