DENTAL nurse Claire Hoskin from Tavistock has been awarded licentiateship to the City and Guilds of London Institute in recognition of her 'exceptional pro-fessional achievements.'

She received her award at the City and Guilds graduation ceremony for 2011, which was held last month in the magnificent surroundings of the Merchant Taylors' Hall, London. Around 95 City and Guilds' senior award recipients were joined by their friends and family to celebrate their success. As well as award winners from the UK, there were 15 graduates from overseas.

The senior awards were developed by C and G for professionals who are looking for an internationally respected award that recognises their talents and work-based achievements. Thousands of individuals have found them to be ideal for personal and career progression.

Claire was one of 14 people to receive a licentiateship in dental nursing. She said: 'I started my dental nursing career in 1996 and have worked hard over the years to gain my qualifications within dental nursing.

'I feel that dental nurses do not get the credit they deserve for the hard work they do. When I found out that I had achieved the Licentiateship and what level this award presented to me, I have to say that I was very proud of myself and my parents were proud too. It was such a wonderful experience and I still can't believe what I have achieved!'
