OKEHAMPTON Golf Club March medal was played in excellent conditions with scoring to match.

Division 1 again saw some excellent scoring with Ian Moore and Matt Soby scoring gross 65 and 66 respectively to end up with net 61s. However, they were both edged out by Paul Rattenbury?s net 60. Graham Pengelly won division 2 with an excellent net 62 and John Flavin matched Paul?s net 60 to win division 3 from Mike Hutchinson.

Division 1 (40 players): 1, P Rattenbury 72 (60); 2, I Moore 65 (61) last 9; 3, M Soby 66 (61).

Division 2 (35 players): 1, G Pengelly 80 (62); 2, N Penfold 80 (64); 3, J Birch 81 (65).

Division 3 (29 players): 1, J Flavin 82 (60); 2, M Hutchinson 82 (62); 3, H Penna 83 (63).

A break in the freeze on Wednesday February 25 enabled lady members of the club to enjoy a fun team competition.

Winners were Dawn Phillott and Mo Huggins with 68 points followed by Sylvia Caunter Janet Hatch and Penny Deakin with 66 points.

The ladies? winter foursomes came to a thrilling climax last week. Dawn Phillott and Marcia Holwill beating Amanda Clifford and Mo Huggins on the 21st hole to win the final.

Fourteen pairs took part in a mixed greensome on Sunday. Excellent scoring saw Steven Hill and Lorna Rolfe winning with an excellent 45 points.

1, S Hill and L Rolfe 45 points; 2, Alan and Marcia Jones 42 points; 3, Bill and Dawn Phillott 41 points.

The junior section played an individual stableford on Sunday.

Michael Cooper won the CONGU division with 36 points, which included a back 9 of 25 points. Oliver Kirby won band A with an excellent 44 points, a score which will help him to gain his CONGU handicap. Jordan Lee won band B with 40 poits.
