A MUSIC lover from Exbourne is offering up his professional studio space to local musicians who possess a passion for songwriting and original music.

Geoff Hodgkinson has spent the last year building a stand-alone recording studio in his garden and is now inviting enthusiastic singers, bands or musicians to record their tracks for free.

‘It’s all for the love of music,’ said Geoff, who has profound expertise of working in the music industry.

‘I want to use it to encourage local talent — so I am offering up the studio to local musicians to come in, completely free of charge, and have their creations recorded providing their material is original.

‘The studio is a multi-media facility. It’s designed as a recording studio complete with full sound-proofing, acoustic spaces and microphones.

‘It has a separate control room, which is kitted out with proper film and sound editing hardware and software so it can be used for anything from film voice- overs to recording eight-piece bands.’

Geoff’s recording facility Johns Park Studio has already been used by local musicians, Rob Love, Christy Rice from Hatherleigh and the local ladies choir, Cantabile.
