A SPECIAL riding event for novice riders will take place in West Devon at the end of August.
Lyd Valley Riding Club, in Bridestowe, will be holding its next open dressage competition on Sunday, August 31.
There will be a range of dressage tests to challenge the novice horse and rider at Leawood Equestrian Centre.
Suzanne Ellison, an event organiser for LVRC said: 'At Lyd Valley we offer a range of events for those who are keen to learn and have fun with their horses.
'We hold regular training sessions to improve skills and confidence, with the opportunity to put these abilities to the test at our local competitions.
'This is an ideal opportunity for riders with young horses or those who want to compete in a more relaxed atmosphere.'
The dressage competition welcomes both members and non-members to take part at a charge of £4.50 for members and £7.00 for non-members.
Dressage tests will be Pre-prelim 3, Prelim 7 (2002), Prelim 14 (2006), and Novice 21.
Anyone who wishes to enter should send payment, made payable to Lyd Valley Riding Club and entry details to, Forest Lodge, Lydford, Devon, EX20 4BP.
All entries must be received by Tuesday, August 26 and competition times will be available from Thursday, August 28 by calling 01822 820458.
