LOWER Street in Chagford will be closed to traffic for one evening next week, to allow South West Water to carry out mains water connection works.

The road will be closed between 6.30pm and 9.30pm on Wednesday May 12.
Light vehicles entering the town will be diverted along Adley Lane via Westcott Cross to the town. Outgoing traffic will be advised to take an alternative route but discouraged from using Adley Lane.
HGVs will be permitted to pass through the works, subject to delays, to avoid these large vehicles using the narrow lanes.
Access to properties will be maintained as far as possible during the evening.
