AN EVENING of reflection and vigil for the tsunami disaster is to be held at St Andrew?s Church in Bere Ferrers. The rector, the Rev Nick Law, said the church was hosting the event, the idea for which had come from villagers themselves ? who would be organising it. Although the main focus will be on the area affected by the tsunami, victims in other areas such as Sudan, which have also been affected by disasters, will not be forgotten. The reflective evening-cum-vigil will be held on Saturday, January 29 from 6pm to midnight. The first three hours will be a time of reflection, with people speaking, information boards to look at, and poetry and music. From 9pm to 11pm there will be a candlelit vigil, with input on each hour and silence in between. ?It is not about fundraising. It is about raising awareness,? Mr Law said. There is an open invitation to everyone to attend for as long or as short a period as they wish.
