MEP Dr Caroline Jackson, chair of the European Parliament's environment committee, is coming to Tavistock to find out more about West DEN's pioneering work that currently is attracting international attention.

Dr Jackson will meet staff and trustees of the award-winning environmental group this Saturday.

She has a lifelong interest in environmental issues and says West DEN's projects including waste reduction, organic food production and youth employment, are an example to the rest of Europe.

'West DEN is blazing a trail in showing how local environmental groups can widen the scope of their projects to involve the whole community and promote local employment,' said Dr Jackson.
