THERE is an unusual opportunity to hear a classic wind ensemble, comprising pairs of oboes, clarinets, horns and bassoons, next Wednesday, November 10 at Kelly College (not November 17 as originally stated) at Kelly College, Tavistock.

Octanphonie was formed in 2000 by players from the Royal College, the Royal Academy and Birmingham Conservatoire.

Oboes are played by Jennie Lee-Keetly and Catherine Clayton and clarinets by Peter Cigleris and Peter Glenville.

Tim Anderson and Nick Wolstencroft play French horns. Fiona Troon and Molly Nielsen play bassoons. Plymouth-born Peter Cigleris is well know to local audiences; he has given many concerts in Devon and Cornwall and has played at previous Kelly College Concert Society events.

The programme will include Mozart?s Serenade and a work by Andrew Wilson, the director of music at Kelly College. The concert begins at 7.45pm in the Melvin Hall and is sponsored by the Foster Charitable Trust.

Tickets at the door are £8 (£6 concessions) and under 18-year-olds accompanied by a ticket holder are admitted free.
