WE are delighted that it is now possible to walk on Bowden Down and Liddaton Common once again. The other afternoon we took the dogs up for a walk and we all had a great time. The views of the distant moors and Brentor are just as breathtaking as ever.

Our thanks go out to the Open Spaces Society and Kate Ashbrook for fighting our cause, to the borough council for their support and also to the farmers who removed the fences and the banks so that access is now possible.

We hope that local people will now use this facility and that after a while the gorse and bracken will recede to its original proportions.

Come and enjoy the countryside but at the same time respect it and the needs of our farmers.
