HATHERLEIGH Festival welcomes the fantastic 7 piece Ghanaian Hi-Life band ?Ehekye Collective? to the Town Hall on Friday, October 28. With dynamic, danceable, delicious rhythms this music is identifiably Ghanaian; loose, warm and very appealing. Their musical tradition has grown from one of Ghana?s best known Ga bands Wulomei, from Jamestown and the band will be here to launch their new album ?Womba?. The band includes fine jazz guitarist, Alfred ?Kari? Bannerman and the mellifluous tones of singer songwriter Nii Quartey Owoo, complete with a vibrant percussion backing group. An unhurried, easy going and eminently danceable sound with a bubbling high-life feel, this music explodes with happiness! Come and experience the Hi-Life from 8pm. Tickets £7 from Hatherleigh Pottery 01837 810624.
