AN Okehampton woman who walked more than 80 miles across Exmoor and Dartmoor completed her charity walk last weekend.
Margot McElligott walked over Cosdon Hill and arrived in Belstone at lunchtime on Saturday. It was an extra special day for Margot as it was her 61st birthday, and she was joined for the final day of her walk by her son who had travelled all they way from Coventry to join the celebrations.
Margot was accompanied throughout her five-day walk by her dogs, Mac and Moley, who, she said, were ?superstars?, throughout the trek.
?The weather was absolutely wonderful, although on the Saturday the Dartmoor mist came down but we came in on time,? she said.
Margot said the walk has already raised more than £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Relief with more sponsorship money still to be collected.
She said she ?loved walking on the moor? and was already beginning to think about another possible charity
fundraisng event.
