TAVISTOCK?S Squash Club?s first team in the Plymouth Company League ended their season with a defeat in the Final of the Plate competition against Plymouth side OPMs. They narrowly lost out 3-2 with Will Crosby and Mike Grey winning their ties comfortably for Tavistock. Pete Middleton lost his tie 3-2 to an up and coming youngster and both Steve Tripp and Andy Gauler had very disappointing matches against their respective opponents. On a more positive note, Tavistock?s league season ended with them retaining their position in the Premier division, although they had been one of the favourites to be relegated. They finished fourth from bottom and this will ensure another season of top squash again next year. Captain Steve Tripp said a special thanks to all players involved throughout the season. To celebrate the end of the season, the club is having an Open Day on Saturday July 8 from 1pm onwards followed by a barbecue at Magpie Bridge. Members and non members are welcome.
