TOP of the table West Devon A in the Tavistock Snooker league dished out little festive cheer to bottom side Conservative C. Santa had nothing in his sack for Con C's Clive Jago as WD's Emptage rattled in a superb 47 and another 18 to power through the first frame. Hurford and Heathman cruised past Liversidge and Craze, with Hawke (23) and K Rich completing the route to make it 5-0. This win leaves West Devon in a nice position going into the Christmas recess with a seven point gap at the top over Con A who have a game in hand.
Conservative Z produced one of the best come-backs this season to turn around a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 at home to visitors West Devon B. Con Z's Palmer was not quite up to the task, falling to Bath with Symons, likewise, falling short against WD's Roger Rich. With the Con Z's staring into the abyss, it was left to Dodd to turn his frame around against Gilchrist to save the day. Gilchrist, with some canny play, was a worthy leader moving in to the colours with Dodd requiring two snookers and the remaining colours to win. Somehow Dodd managed it to pull the frame around for the Con Z's. A 25 break for Con's Morton was the difference between him and John Rich, with Fitzsimmons completing the Con's comeback with a tough fought win over Ronnie O Moule.
This win puts Con Z one point ahead of West Devon B in the table with West Devon having a game in hand.
