A PART-time model from Tavistock is appealing to Times readers to help her get through the next round of a Plymouth modelling competition.
Twenty-one-year-old Emma-Jane Lewis has been chosen as one of 170 semi-finalists for the Plymouth Calendar Girls competition, which searches for 12 girls to appear in a calendar sold to raise money for St Luke's Hospice.
As well as modelling part-time, Emma is studying teaching, counselling and psychotherapy at UCP Marjon in Plymouth. She has only entered one modelling competition before this one, and made it through to be a reserve for the Plymouth Pin Up competition.
Emma said: 'I've been modelling now for nearly two years part-time, and I really love fashion — especially vintage. It's the first time I have entered Plymouth Calendar Girls and did it because I feel I'm more confident and want to get more exposure as a model. This will hopefully take my career further, and the money goes to St Luke's Hospice, which is a really good cause.'
Although Emma has received awards for modelling alongside photographers such as Sigma Studios, she believes being part of the calendar will be a big leap in her career.
The next round of the competition requires the public to vote for their favourite girls, and Emma needs as many votes as possible.
She said: 'I need everyone's votes to help me make it.'
To vote for Emma to have the chance to be in the calendar, text PCG then a space, followed by 026 to 81400.
The texts cost £1 plus the standard network rate.
