A PUPIL from Shebbear College Junior School has shown she has the talent potentially to write a bestseller of the future after she reached the second stage of a national writing competition.

From 78,000 entries submitted nationally, Emma was among the top 2,000 to be sent to the National Literacy Trust for the second stage of judging.

The list will be narrowed down to a top 50, with five children's authors, including Dame Jacqueline Wilson and David Walliams, and radio and television and radio presenter Chris Evans choosing the overall winner in May.
