TAVISTOCK triathlete Emily Attfield had a busy Bank Holiday weekend taking in two challenging events. Competing for the first time as a member of Tem Certini she rewarded her new sponsors with a first place in the Swindon Duathlon on the Sunday. Lapping the rest of the field in the cycle section she won the race by four minutes.
She then travelled to Mallory Park in Leicestershire where the competition was more challenging. The DBMax Triathlon drew some of the best young competitors in the region.
The 200m open water swim soon had the field strung out, Emily was in third place for the start of the 6km cycle section - with Emily clocking 35mph on the pit straight - and closed to within 30 seconds of her nearest rival on the run to finish third overall.
