RESIDENTS, staff and volunteers at Abbeyfield Tavistock Society's Drake Lodge enjoyed free technology advice during a special visit recently in celebration of International Older People's Day.

The visit was hosted by a Barclays Digital Eagle tech specialist Tammy Hyndman, who helps train customers and staff for the South West area of the bank.

She explained the benefits of using tablets and laptops for social reasons and the joy of being able to Skype relatives and friends around the world.

Drake Lodge resident Margaret Bennett, 95, (pictured) said following Tammy's visit: 'I feel more confident in embracing this digital revolution and want to learn to "fly" with this new technology.'
