THE new Register of Electors is currently being compiled and will be published on November 29. Registration and, where necessary, first reminder forms, known as Form A?s, have been sent to each household within the borough.
Those who have not responded to either form will be visited by a canvasser shortly who will ask for one of the forms sent earlier to be completed.
Alternatively the canvasser will have a form which can be completed at the time of the visit.
If you have not yet done so, complete the registration form already sent to you and return it, post free, to the borough council?s Electoral Registration Officer just as soon as you can and certainly no later than Thursday, October 31.
If you do not do this, your name may be excluded from the electoral register and you may experience difficulties should you apply for credit.
For the first time electors have the opportunity of having their names excluded from the public version of the Register. The public version will be available for anyone to buy.
The full version of the Register cannot be sold to any one person or organisation with the exception of the registered credit reference agencies and these organisations are restricted to using the Register for credit checking purposes only.
To have your name excluded from the public version of the register, simply make a mark in the appropriate column on the Form A.
If you have returned your Form A already without marking the exclusion column but would like your name removed from the public version of the register then simply write appropriately to the Electoral Registration Officer.
If you have not received a registration form then please telephone the Electoral Registration Officer on 10822 813600.
