A WEST Devon charity that aims to reduce symptoms of trauma and stress in ex-service personnel is inviting people to take part in its eight-week pilot course.
Stresscare, the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Association, is holding a pilot programme of self-empowerment workshops to reduce the symptoms of trauma and stress-related illness.
The aim is to reduce the effects of post-traumatic stress, enabling participants to achieve a quality of life that empowers them fully to participate in and contribute to their lifestyle, education, employment, family, relationships and community.
This is achieved through Colour Immersion Therapy and a mixture of interventions, as well as the use of art, music and meditation, the support of family and affected others, advice on diet, exercise and drug and drink awareness, Tai Chi, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and other activities.
The course, which runs for one day a week for eight weeks, takes place in Tavistock from Thursday, September 5.
